Courses will be lead by a RMOC instructor and many will have professional athletes and ambassadors in the class to assist in certain areas. Pre- registration may be required for many of the classes. Intro to Playboating
Intro to playboating increases your grins by developing a solid foundation of playboating skills. We focus on front and back surfing as well as 360-degree flat spins. We also highlight eddy line squirts and go over some introductory cartwheel techniques.

This is a great course for intermediate paddlers who are beginning to lead beginners and other boaters down the river. We will focus on group dynamics and communication including hand signals and river running strategies. These are important skills for groups of kayakers, and will set a solid basis for leading safe trips and avoiding accidents and rescue situations. We will also practice basic rescue skills and learn some valuable techniques for executing safe and effective rescues. The basic rescue situations will include rescuing swimmers while in a kayak, rescuing multiple swimmers, rescuing runaway boats and gear, and setting safety from shore. The course will stress the importance of communication and teamwork to effectively lead safe trips and deal with rescue situations when they arise.

This is a great course for intermediate and advanced kayakers who want to step up to harder rivers and be able to confidently deal with rescue situations. We will discuss and practice advanced river running strategies and communication that will help groups run rivers safely and effectively while avoiding rescue situations. We will work on setting effective shore safety and using throw ropes to rescue swimmers. We will learn techniques for rescuing pinned boats, pinned boaters, foot entrapment victims, stranded swimmers, and more. If you want to learn how to save lives on the river, this is the course for you.

Intro Clinic
Designed for the novice or 1st time kayaker.
The Beginner kayaking instruction clinic provides students a general overview of basic skills and is perfect for a student with no experience or less than five days in a kayak. In addition, the course provides excellent opportunities for people without moving water experience or for those who have had little or no formal training. Many students have also found the Beginner clinic to be a very effective refresher if it has been a while since you last paddled.
